The October 4 registration form is active now

Shoal Creek Conservancy’s October rain-garden workday is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. The organization says volunteers will help maintain a rain garden along Shoal Creek Boulevard near Twin Oaks Drive.

The official event page currently displays a Register Now link, and the linked Neon CRM form loaded as an active October 4 registration on October 1. The form requests attendee information and a liability and photo-release agreement. It does not publish a trustworthy remaining-space count in its public text, so an open form should not be treated as a guaranteed place until the registration is completed and confirmed.

Workday locations can change depending on where help is needed. Registered volunteers are told to expect the exact meeting point and parking details by email a couple of days before the event rather than navigating only to the intersection in the public listing.

  • Complete the official form and keep the confirmation.
  • Watch the registration email for the exact meeting point and parking directions.
  • Do not assume the public intersection is the final check-in location.
  • Recheck the organizer’s page if weather could affect outdoor work.

The assignment is outdoor rain-garden maintenance

Shoal Creek Conservancy describes the work as maintaining one of the rain gardens along Shoal Creek Boulevard. The public page does not break the assignment into guaranteed individual tasks, publish a lifting requirement or promise a particular tool, so volunteers should follow the onsite leader’s instructions.

The organization says it will provide tools and supplies. Volunteers should bring water and snacks if needed, wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and dress for the weather.

Those preparation notes apply to the listed outdoor workday; they do not establish an accessibility plan for every participant. Anyone who needs a task or arrival accommodation should contact the organizer through the official event page before completing the registration.

All ages are welcome with supervision

The official event page says all ages are welcome with supervision. It does not publish a universal minimum age, a child-to-adult ratio or a separate youth waiver rule in the readable event copy.

A family should register the actual attendees, review the waiver language and confirm any youth-specific instructions with Shoal Creek Conservancy. “All ages” does not remove the need for supervision or make every onsite task suitable for every child.

Because the exact work area arrives later by email, adults should also verify terrain, restroom access and parking if those details affect whether a younger volunteer can participate safely.

The October 8 restoration signup is also active

Shoal Creek Conservancy lists a separate riparian-restoration workday for Thursday, October 8, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Its official registration form also loaded as active on October 1.

That event is not the same assignment as the October 4 rain-garden workday. The public listing describes work in the riparian buffer along Shoal Creek Boulevard and leaves the location as TBD, with registered volunteers receiving the final meeting point by email.

Choose the date and task that fit, then complete the corresponding form. Registering for one workday should not be treated as registration for the other.

Do not rely on the October 9 signup link yet

The organization’s October 9 cleanup page says registration opened September 18 and displays a Register Now button for an 8–10 a.m. litter-and-recycling cleanup. However, the linked Neon CRM destination returned “This form is not exist” when Help Austin checked it on October 1.

That conflict means the event page is current but the public registration path is not usable as published. Help Austin is not labeling the October 9 cleanup open, full or canceled; none of those states is established by the broken destination alone.

Interested volunteers should use the contact route on the official event page or wait for Shoal Creek Conservancy to repair the link. Do not travel on the strength of the event listing without a confirmation and final meeting details.

The October 31 cleanup is scheduled, but registration opens October 9

A second October volunteer cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, from 8 to 10 a.m. along the Shoal Creek Trail. Its official page says registration will open October 9.

The linked registration system currently labels that event closed, which is consistent with the future opening date. It is not evidence that the cleanup filled before registration began.

Help Austin reviewed the event calendar, individual workday pages and registration destinations on October 1, 2026. Use the organizer’s live pages for changes, and keep the final confirmation and emailed meeting point before attending any workday.
